Cointreau Art of the Cocktail Hour

Cocktail dress trends from Fashion Week

We all need divine (fashion) inspiration at some point, and Melbourne Spring Fashion Week not only delivered the latest in runway looks, but there was an abundance of beautiful cocktail hour attire.  After immersing myself in fashion all last week, I’ve come up for air and have outlined three key trends:

Smouldering Sophistication

Show stopping, jaw dropping gowns with feathered trim, exquisite detail and beautiful beading. Debut one of these stunning dresses at a high-class cocktail hour in honour of a special event, such as an important birthday, anniversary or engagement. Don’t forget your false eyelashes for movie star glamour.

After Five Femininity

Lovely lace, soft silhouettes, ruffles and shorter lengths dictate these looks, which are in perfect synergy with an after five cocktail hour.  Their vintage inspired details can take you from a cocktail soiree or after work drinks, to a night on the town in the most stylish of bars. Swoon!

Pretty and Playful

Spring is just the time to swap dark shades for vibrant colours and floral patterns. These styles match the ‘60s meets modern’ look, for a garden inspired cocktail party at home. Be bold – team silk shorts with bows, or slip into a vibrant, floral patterned dress and team your outfit with a pair of peep toe heels. Betty Draper would be proud.

What look do you like the most?
